Dr. Sally Borges:
Dr. Borges earned her DVM in 1985 at the UC Davis School of Veterinary
Medicine in and earned her Master of Science degree at the London School
of Tropical Medicine in Medical Parasitology in 1981. She has practiced
around the Davis area since graduating and has co-owned Acorn
Veterinary Clinic with Dr. Jackman since 1994. Dr. Borges grew up in the Davis area, going through the Davis
school system, but also spent five years with her family living in Kenya
while growing up. She and her husband have a son and daughter. Her pets include one dog, two
cats, and one budgie. Hobbies include bicycling, kayaking, and plein aire painting in watercolor and oils. |

Dr. Joy Jackman:
Dr. Jackman earned her DVM degree from UC Davis in 1987 and completed a
Master's Degree in Preventive Veterinary Medicine in 1988. She is
co-owner of Acorn Veterinary Clinic with Dr. Sally Borges. She has two
teenage sons and stays very busy trying to keep up with them and her
husband. In her spare time she gardens and plays inline hockey. |

Dr. Kris Codino:
Dr. Codino earned her veterinary degree from UC Davis in 1984 and has
worked at Acorn since 2003. She is also the shelter veterinarian at Yolo County Animal Services. She treats exotic pets in addition to cats and dogs. She and
her husband, also a veterinarian, have a daughter in high school. Her
pets include dogs, cats, a rabbit, a guinea pig and donkeys, in addition to her foster
pets. |

Dr. Kim Nixon:
Dr. Nixon earned her veterinary degree from UC Davis in 1985, and her
Masters in Preventative Medicine the following year. She has worked at
Acorn since 2005. She has a special fondness for exotic pets, and enjoys
treating birds, reptiles, and small mammals, in addition to cats and
dogs. Her personal pets include a dog, three cats, two llamas, geese,
chickens, turkeys, two turtles, and many fish. She and her husband have
three children in Davis. |
